Yes, yes, I'm a Sonic fan. How original! The blue bastard has been pretty much a constant throughout my life; my earliest memory regarding him was getting to play Sonic Adventure 2: Battle at soft play area back in the day. I followed up by... playing the games when visiting friends who had more money!
Sonic became my first fandom as I got a little older and internet access became easier and faster. However, this around the time just after '06's release which was... rough. Reading forums and fancomics and creating/drawing OCs still brought me joy though! I got a DS which gave me access to Sonic Rush Adventure, one of the first games I owned myself. I was pretty much obsessed with Sonic Unleashed in it's lead-up and release, and it was the main reason I got an Xbox 360. I ended up enjoying it a lot more than everyone else as the time (helps I'm a werewolf fan!) though nowadays I'm feeling quite vindicted.
Alas, by the time Sonic Generations came out (bad timing, right?) I'd burnt myself out the franchise. My interest stayed dormant, occasionaly popping up for new releases which I could rarely play. That was until the original Sonic Symphony broadcast... my love of the music and realising how much this silly blue bitch, his world (hah) and his stories meant to me opened the floodgates again. It's been one of my main creative inspirations since and helped me to finally open up and talk to people on the internet! You'll find me chatting in the BumbleKast server every so often, which is full of lovely people. (Also where I'm know as "that person who has the fruity sonic pics folder.")
It seems now in retrospect that it was a great time to hop back in as there's been a string of quality releases across all media for this franchise since. Here hoping this (blue) streak continues into the future!
